The most romantic story I know is the way my grandparents met. They were traveling from London to Newcastle by train, and in those days it was a long journey, so after a while they started talking. They soon discovered that they had a lot in common. Both of them were from Newcastle, but both of them had trained to be journalists in London, and both of them were going home to see their families for Christmas. The weather was terrible; apparently it was snowing really badly all the way to Newcastle. At one point, the train stopped for quite a long time, but it obviously was not a problem, because somehow during the journey, they fell in love and decided to get married. By the time they reached Newcastle, they were engaged. The wedding took place a few weeks later, and amazingly they are still happily married 50 years later.

"The most romantic story I know is the way my grandparents 1. met. They 2. were traveling from London to Newcastle by train, and in those days it 3. was a long journey, so after a while they 4. started talking. They soon 5. discovered that they 6. had a lot in common. Both of them 7. were from Newcastle, but both of them 8. were training to be journalists in London, and both of them 9. were going home to see their families for Christmas.

The weather was terrible; apparently it 10. was snowing really badly all the way to Newcastle. At one point, the train 11. stopped for quite a long time, but it obviously 12. was not a problem, because somehow during the journey, they 13. fell in love and 14. decided to get married. By the time they 15. reached Newcastle, they were engaged. The wedding 16. took place a few weeks later, and amazingly they are still happily married 50 years later."

  12. was not – прошедшее время глагола "be" (быть) с отрицанием.
